Oil Drain Return Question

Have bought some new GT2860-5 turbos and have modded my original metal oil drain pipes to fit (enlarged the holes) my question is i have 2 metal pipes one has a 90 return one has a bend in it which one does on the rear turbo ?

90° return on the rear...




...for the front bend one you may need a spacer fabricated

OK have the front turbo in front of me i can see what you mean about it hitting the casing and fitting a spacer for clearance, what about cutting off the pipe at the base moving it around so it clears and re-weld it back on ?

Yep as long as i can fit some thick alloy to make it.

And some more gaskets.

Get yourself a 15mm thick spacer made and everything is fine

And you need one more gasket, and that won't be that expensive

You can also cut and reweld it, but the more decent way is a spacer as you don't need to mess around.

90 on the rear but honestly i life to toss that and use 2 45's and custom it up.... that 90 really becomes a traffic jam for oil exiting the turbo

Thanks for all the replys have found out that Garrett do a oil return pipe kit for the GT2860 turbos for the Skyline GTR and are around £12.00 each so i have ordered 2 new ones that are going to fit first time.
