The Centre City has been cordoned off now for just over a year since the first 7.1 quake, 90% of the buildings will be demolished....

On a plus note, I'm off to Wellington this weekend for one of the World Cup Rugby games!!

I am one of those non UK members. It isn't all that quite in other parts such as Germany or the Netherlands.
What must the be said though, there aren't thousands of GTRs roaming around. Roughly 2/10 Skylines are GTR's and the rest the other models at least around here in Germany. It isn't all that much different in the Netherlands.

The thing is, and will always be that most people on the mainland would prefer a BMW, VW, etc. over any Japanese car.
The people that could afford them, often don't want the hassle of registering or tuning it. Further especially in Germany no one wants to break a single screw. Anything modified they are afraid of, although they will jealous of the ones that do have highly modded cars.
What Ive further noticed is that in Germany a lot of GT-R drivers are foreigners, not german's at all

the car culture is just completely different from the UK, which like with radio in the UK is much more diversified.

The UK should not be worried too much about the economic outlook. I travel the world 6 months of the year and neither China, the US or the mideast are any competition for Europe.
Just Sunday I saw a family of English or Irish at a gokart track. These Rooney look-alikes can do a lot more work or damage for that matter than any chinese or american. (We didn't want to ride with them although it was our turn. I dont see many kids that are too wide for the gokart but too short for the pedals)

Concentrate on what made the UK big: Import(Exploit) anything that is too expensive to make/build yourself and invest what makes you or a product better.

Heck I know a handful of chinese who will literally kill to get to the UK, use them

the problem is (and we can get them or any other literature)

to buy the book, internally ship it, then ship it half way around the world

everyone expects these to cost £10, and it costs a hell of alot more than that to do.

so its something we dont really want to get into (unless parts orders are placed) as its not really economical to supply literature

think at one stage, you could get these directly from Hyperev, there was an order section in the books themselves(yeah, i know you need one to get one), though they probably do have a website. Still won't be the price in japan or close.
