You're quite right, I've paid enough to get it undersealed (with the proper stuff) so I shouldn't hammarite odd parts!

I am scratching my head on getting those bushes out, they only press out one way and the other side of the bracket is in the way. Did you manage to do it?

Hi Toni,

The rads you can get re-cored. Costs about £40 each.

Place in Brum did mine.

Sure you will have someone local.

As for the suspension arms. Im sure mine was aluminium? Mine would of been Nismo tho. Not sure if that helps?

Also Toni,

check all the AF fittings. Mine had corroded and gone brittle with small cracks. I dont think road salt corroded but more caused by two metals reacting.

For how simple and maybe £30 in new fittings i would change all the connectors.

End of the day if one of those fittings fails the pumps will pump your gearbox dry in a matter of seconds. Its not like it will be a small leek you spot on the garage floor.

Already on the menu chap. All the fittings are going to be cleaned and inspected, cheers for that though.

At the moment I've got a shell on a dolly and a 1000 parts. It's a bit daunting!

I presume you read my rebuild thread?

mine went to back to a shell as it was stripped on the outside for a new engine , gearbox, respray all at the same time!

Did get very worrying at times when i was stood looking at a very large box of parts and a shell!

It will be worth it tho Toni.

I know it's scary. I suspect this refurb of the shell will be north of £10K and I won't have even started on what I want to do with the engine.

That'll have to wait until next year I think!

Still, he's a keeper...they're not getting any more common y'know.

Just got to count pennies and see if I can afford a bit of bling too now.

Slightly surprised they didn't remove the old brake lines, grommets and upper link bolts, before just laying underseal over the top of what looks like half removed original stone chip protection Toni. For that sort of money I'd expect to see back to bare metal, (to ensure all the rust is removed completely) and rust treatment prepping (por-15 or the like) to be honest.

Must admit, I thought that too Bob.
I don't think any underseal has been removed though, mine looked just the same. I think Nissan only threatened these cars with underseal tbh!

Toni, sorry to back up 'Toes' here. I also thought the same. I didnt want to say anything but the paint over the rubbers etc would really annoy me. Well i would not allow it to happen as i did my own car.

Still we dont know what has exactly taken place. In my case i did mist over brake pipes with satin black. Not sure if this is the case with your car?

On my build pics i had similar going on and im surprised no one questioned me. In my case i took pics while paints was wet and like i say it was satin black and not underseal over lines. Again not sure if this is the case on your car?
