I wonder if the update DVD would know if it's been in more than one GTR?

No, that is fixed by the hardware, sorry.

Sorry I don't have the part number, I am sure your dealer would be able to order it from the description

I was wondering exactly the same thing Given that the update is DVD based and the GTR has no write function on the in car DVD and no data connection back to Nissan I can see no mechanism by which Nissan could limit the application of this update to one user per DVD.

Anyone up for a DVD syndicate?

Only catch would be if each DVD is unique with a serial no. embedded in the update program and then recorded on the black box. Next time you take your car in for service they find the same serial on all GTROC's members cars and empound them all, lol

Can't see the above ringing true though, so I recon a syndicate is the way forward. Don't use my sat nav much but if it's going to cost £20 I might chip in.

I fear NMGB will see this thread and stop sales to customers of discs and make us all them installed at the HPC's

You'd think so wouldn't you, but that really is why I'm asking here.

Then take away your discs and put them in the cupboard?

Alternatively and hopefully they are reading this, they could charge a reasonable price for them and sell 10x as many?

Seems like someone should buy the upgrade and make some personal backups of the discs then mislay them at the next GTR meet
