0-60 in under 3 secs in a Nova, what the Hell?

Sometimes there's no justification in this world:

rather nippy nova

That'll be the same Nova that Henry lunched.

And has been quoted by every spooty oik in the UK. Sadly missing the fact that it was behind the start beam of the sprint therefore making its time horrendously fast and pointless.

Heck I have read about normal cars getting in the low 6's and high 5's thank to that event

J.

Yes but thats not the only place its been timed.

Now i'm no fan of them but you have to give them credit for building such a beast.

Oh did you hear how bad it was running at POD. LOL

Anyone tried adding to their shopping basket?

Seems like you can buy it for just £12.00 p&p

Dave.

Seen that in the side of the road as you exit from the pod, bonnet open-not a very happy driver!
Also heard that their sub 3 second time at Trax was a false start (ie rolling) or something like that.

Nova

What an awesome little car.

I see it at Trax, it went past and it looked like a right shed until I see what the guy had done to it. I like the fact that its matt black, no doubt it is so as he keeps chopping and changing bits of bodywork to incorporate different mods along the way so its easy to keep it looking reasonably tidy in black.

The engine in the boot is a bit of clever engineering, hat off to the guy he's obviously spent alot of time on the car.

As for its 2+ second 0-60, we will never know but I see it run and it was pretty quick, just as fast if not faster than a 400+ skyline whether he had a head start or not. Most Skyline's I see at the event ran late 3's or above, with the same air of accuracy of starting point as the Nova.

Of all the Nova's I have seen and hated, this I liked, I dont who owns it but who ever you are well done.

My ex is a vauxhall girl

Aprently the story is that Regal UK commisoned EDS (German tuner) to build it as a show car. IE put up ridiculously quick times and gets loads of business. So if this is true it meets its goals.

Oh and yes they are 2 Calibra 2.0 trubo units each putting out around 300bhp. So you are talking baout a ridiculous power to weight ratio oh and traction aint a problem having one engine running the front and one running the rear.

Some vids off there site.

The Nova

Seems a shame to put that kind of work and effort into a Nova, but it's looking alot better now than it did at TRAX. (For a Vauxhall )

There are a couple of piccies in the Santa Pod Album I put in Imagestation....

http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288852517

And it was definately getting rolling starts at TRAx which gave it some unreal 0-60 times

My hat comes off to anyone who builds a cool car. We may make fun of other car brands, but at the end of the day we're all car maniacs pushing the limits of cars...

What does that thing weigh (stock at least)?

I have seen this car launch a couple of times and also know it from the Vaux forums, and it does indeed have 2x 2litre LET turbo engines, both putting out roughly 360bhp...

As far as Trax goes, well both runs were official and not trickery with the start beams or "rolling".... 1st run was in first and shift to second for 60mph and got 3.4, second run he launched it in second, bogged it slightly but then recorded a 2.8sec 60.... VERY impressive stuff for a little Nova I think you will agree...
