Car still corners rather flat however sidewall folds a bit more than I like and it does 'hop' a bit. I will attempt the same drive again once rain stops at 35psi. (cold)
Thanks for that - look forward to hearing more.

Ah, that's not sounding good for me. These are the same symptoms that contributed to more than a few heart-stopping moments with the PS2s on the broken and lumpen roads that are local to me.

I suspect there's possibly just no substitute for a super-stiff sidewall when driving these 2-tonne lumps on British B-roads.

I've only done a few miles on my pre-release set.

First impressions are of how incredibly quiet they are! There is virtually no tyre noise at all now. I could actually hear wind noise rustling on the A pillars that was previously inaudible under the tyre noise.

I'm running them at about 32psi cold and the ride is halfway between the Dunlops and the very comfy R888s. You definitely still need Comfort mode with these unless on a smooth surface, unlike with the R888s.

There does seem to be an element of "bounce" over irregularities. Not softness, more an under-damped bouncing.
Adjusting tyre pressures may reduce that, and I'm hoping Iain's suspension kit's superior damping might too.

Too early to comment on grip, although again, it feels initially like they are going to be halfway between the Dunlops and the R888s.

More findings as I do more miles.

I didnt realse that Litchfields were becoming a michelin vendor, but just saw this:

Nissan GTR Michelin Super Sport Tyres

If you time tyre changes with servicing tat could be really convenent.

It's ethaps remature of me but ive already decided tat tese are the tyres I will want.

Having been out in davids car immediately after mine on the dunlops, i can definely agree on the tyre noise. Ride quality not so compatable due to the stellar difference between the 2009 and 2011 stock suspension.

I've always found the comfort mode to have no impact whatsoever on the ride quality, with only the low-speed damping being influenced by that switch (MY09). Does the comfort switch on the MY11 car actually alter the high-speed damping too?

NOTE: High and low speeds relate to suspension speeds, not the car.

It was this "bounce", when it happened with the front tyres (PS2 on Evo-IX GT), that used to have me as white as a sheet. There was nothing progressive about it.

My requirements are perhaps just too specific, being that I drive on such bumpy roads. Further from the 'ring I cannot imagine.

Does this mean only Lichfield will stock them
Or can those of us unlucky enough to live a long way
Get them from other dealers ?

Despite my reservations, I'm going to give them a go. It's the only way to really find out.

I've just ordered mine from julian@tirerack.com . He was extremely helpful in sending me the Bridgestone Blizzarks for winter.

They'll be released officially in the UK next month. Probably about the same time your tyres arrive! Iain was talking about selling them at a very competitive price.

I'm currently burning up my winter Blizzaks. If I wait another 6 weeks then they'll be no use for another season. From the date of placing the order for my Blizzaks to them actually arriving from the States took just 6 days.

I asked Camskill for a date when the Michelins will be available and they could give me no actual date. April could become May. I really do need to get summer rubber on now.

6 days is impressive. Estimated landed price after import duty, VAT and delivery?

Price is $1770 plus $300 shipping. With the current exchange rate that comes to £1300 delivered to my door.

When I ordered the Blizzaks I was expecting a tax bill but none ever came. Normally the courier will not deliver until the bill is settled. It could be that my company covered it despite me marking it clearly as personal import. I'll let you know what happens this time around.

You lucky sod. I was charged somewhere around £300 for import duty and tax. Then I had to send my car and tyres to Edinburgh with £200 for fitting!
Summer tyres going back on this weekend. Another trip to Edinburgh.
May detour back up the A82 on the way home, weather permitting

Yeah, at those prices, there won't be a cost saving importing them, particularly if you have to pay import duty and VAT (which most will).
So for those who can wait, do so!
