I also tell people to do the first 250-300km in one go. Also to drive very irregularly, i.e. no cruising, but use the engine from idle to 2/3 of the rev range for the first 1000km, in all gears, then increase gradually to redline by 1500km, then have first oil change.

I've done this with every car I had and the difference is huge.

The "run it hard" doesn't imply redlining it, it just means not to baby it So full throttle, but shift up at 2/3s of the rev range. (still 5300RPM on an RB26DETT )

And keep in mind not to go nuts when the car is warming up...
