Wheel Spacing Basics

Bought an R33 GTR a couple of months back with TE37's fitted .The rims are 17's but I dont know the width and they have 245/45 X 17 tyres fitted. Now to me they look as if they could do with at least a 25mm spacer to fill the arches but I dont want to splash the cash and still be disappointed. So here's my question(s):

1) Is the wheel size marked on the wheel anywhere or will I have to get the tape out and do some measuring?, and

2) Once I've confirmed the wheel size and offset, is there a table I can refer to that will tell me the maximum size spacer I can fit to these wheels with these tyres to fill the standard arch without rubbing?

The car has Ohlins adjustables fitted and the arch currently sits about 30mm above the wheel. I dont want to raise it anymore so this may have some bearing on the max width I can get if its usual for suspension travel to be more than 30mm. Car is only ever used on the road.

Look forward to some helpful replies.

Standard wheels are 9 inch wide, with a +30 offset. They sit inside the wheel arches.

A 9 inch wheel will need 20 mm spacers for them to stick noticably out without too many problems.

Thanks. Was hoping for a few more replies from guys running TE37's who could answer the first question if not the second.

Wheel size should be stamped inside the wheel, you'll have to take one off and look for the stamP
