Cage and chute are a necessity and certainly aren't there to speed it up either, you can tell from the close up video that it clearly has street tyres. The car is quieter than a lot of "street" RB GTRs I've seen vids of running 9s or even 10s in some cases, I reckon its pretty impressive.
I have no idea how not having a spoiler makes it not street trim, though if its doing 8.6s with the power dialled back to try and hook up - I doubt putting a pair of mirrors on it to make it a "street car" is going to suddenly make it noticeably slower. At a guess, I'd say those things might be more with the standing mile runs next week in mind....

The question is where do you draw the line on the "street trim" term? Tiny carbon seats? No passenger seat? Rollcage? Personally, I would not attempt anything like they are without the cage! Hell, my 400bhp impreza has a welded in rear half cage..... ![]()

Ive got no spoiler and carbon boot, mine must not be street trim anymore!!!
This is one the most street-able cars in the whole world that can run times like that!!

You can't take street worthy points off it for having a cage, the cage is definitely a pro for a car capable of hitting near 300kph in under 9s from a standing start... the safety things are things for the good of the soft biological bits inside the car, not the car itself and its ability to go fast.
And picking on the passenger seat, seriously? Do you have to have a particular brand of stereo too?

The carbon roof hood and trunk save about 40 lbs and are mainly for aesthetics. BTW we think the GT-R sans spoiler looks better than with one
hahahahaThe mirrors were removed because on the first 9.24 pass they just folded in on us and we feared they might be a liability at speed. The cage if anything makes the car slower, we just wanted it in there for safety. Lonestar (the track) has a very short shut down and again for safety reason we added it on to the car but the brakes (with proper stopping distance) can more than handle that. The drivers seat is quite comfortable even being carbon The passenger CF seat was removed for the run because it allowed for a better camera angle in the car. This was also only done on about 1350-1400whp. We tried it at 1500whp and she spun the tires so bad it shut the throttle down. 1600whp was obviously not even attempted We need to find a stickier track. The car is 100% a street car This weekend she hits the Texas mile to see how soon we can top out the GT-R gearing. Judging that she can hit 174mph in just a 1/4 mile we are pretty optimistic it can at least find the limits. Eric

Nice, so that would allow over 220mph on stock gearing

This depends on what RR the tyres are!.(taller =faster)
A little tongue in cheek with Eric's "Road Car" Analysis, In the Uk we would have to run wing mirrors.front passenger seats, on the road, i think you may also have some issues with Drag radials and the shoot,@mot time, never mind emissions in the US lol Maybe in the US its good to drive with the mods! However all the best, with there challenges this weekend,in Texas, AMS We expect Records to go 4 sure Good luck to them !!!!!!!!!!!!!..Gives the rest of the world a new benchmark and focus lolRecord's are there to be broken!!

This is crazy, do you guys know who streetable most cars that run in the 8s are!!!!!!
Its offensive to whinge about when the car is so so fast! Go to the drag strip and see what is there! No previous skyline could come close to these times and be so normal.

we are running 20" wheel and tires for the event. Drag radials are not allowed.
Based on gearing, tire size and engine speed it is capable of doing 230+mph We will see what the weather does though. As of late the event has had a pretty nasty head wind. Eric
