Wheel colour suggestions

After weeks of searching and bidding on eBay i finally have a set of four spare wheels 2008-10 style for my 2010 GTR. My car is DMG and currently has High gloss black wheels, i need to get this new set refurbed, and thought i may go for a different colour. What do you guys think would look good with DMG ?

Just taken mine from standard black edition to two pack gloss black...looks so much better than the standard black edition or premium wheels IMHO

I wouldn't do bronze on a dmg car.

Henry, much as we usually agree, I really have to go against you on this one. I think a gloss black refurb is a crime.

The stock GTR alloys, both pre and post 2011 are among the best looking wheels I know of on a standard car. I think the worst thing you can do to them is paint them a colour that hides their concaveness.

With that in mind I'd go for the closest colour to silver you can cope with.

I would try to maybe go for an oily (read pearlised) gun metal colour.

Robbie refurbed my 2010 wheels and I was very happy with the results.

I'm going to cry when I discover the first mark on my 2011 alloys as I really don't want to see them done.

Have you considered a carbon fibre wrap on the wheels?

Also, can I ask how much you paid for the spare set and why you bought them?

i would say to go totally different you could try hyper silver. i've seen a couple of 35's on the net with standard shape alloys in silver and funnily enough they do look pretty tasty....i suppose they make the alloy look bigger too.

I must say i am tempted for by a bronze finish, i think like silver it would show off the wheels well.

I ended up buying two sets one front and one back each time from ebay, total of £850, with one good 6-7 mm Bridgestone Potenza which i can either use of resell for around £120. So all in all less than £750 for the set plus the refurb cost circa £350 so £1100 for a perfect set sounds very good to me. Very hard to find any full sets for sale anymore.

I just wanted a spare set, so maybe one with run flats and one with non run flats or possibly winter tires, havent decided yet. Also with a different colour just for variety, i really like my High gloss black wheels, would also go for a set of 2011 wheels if i could find one but even rarer.

My cars a titanium premium edition and even though the wheels are standard premium grey against the titanium they do look rather bronzish...

I love bronze wheels on a dark car (love titanium btw), trouble is I've not found an aftermarket refurb place that can properly produce the bronze colour.

Adam I think they define the wheel better now...standard they just looked a bit messy...the two pack really enhances the looks for me but each to the own...kinda makes them more aggressive as in keeping with the car!

Except that you really can't see most of the aggression because the black gloss hides the deep curvature of the rear wheels especially.

the early imports (2007) had silver wheels.. the only other colour that could match is probably a dark bronze

correct. and they looked pretty tasty, i think partly due to the fact that most GTR's have dark alloys be it grey/black/gloss black....i think that point of difference makes it appealing.

I look forward to that,

more so the meeting than the confirmation of the colour - you'll never convince me!
