thanks J

Spoke to Nissan re joining instructions and I'm told everyone will receive these by the middle of next week.

In the meantime, I can confirm you will be required to provide your own sleeping bag, camping mat, towels and any other personal items.

There will be toilet and shower facilities but you will be required to provide your own shower shoes ( which I think means flip flops to anyone born after 1970 and sandals ,if you weren't )

Yes, like JM, I received two well prepared packs and comprehensive joining instructions.

Obviously with the way my luck has been running lately one handy item was broken by the Royal Mail.

This event is starting to look even better than I thought with plenty of time for watching serious racing and bar fun.

Is anyone staying in Folkestone the night before?

I may be able to get a deal either at the Premier Inn or the Holiday Inn Express. Preference probably for the Premier Inn as the HIE was a bit iffy last time.

EDIT

Only the Holiday Inn Express now available at £62 BB

We'll go for that J.

Was the bar crap at HIE?

I'll book up HIE soon but I'm paranoiac about something blowing up in my face again. Ed knows if he read my PM.

Be positive Jack, this is going to be really really great.

Mary cannot join me this time but I am bringing a young racing driver I manage who is bringing his gear just in case a drive turns up. He will be with the Heiko Mercedes AMG works team so I will have access with my 'friends' to that team as well.

Now is the time that your luck changes and you and Maureen can enjoy a weekend of fun and relaxation

Booked in to HIE Folkestone on Thursday night, 17.5.12.

Hopefully will meet up with JM and others to kick off this trip with a 'couple' of beers.

Jack, I am really sorry but I am unable to come down Thursday evening. Work commitments for me, and my passenger is working at Rockingham until late.

See you both at the terminal on Friday and I may even let you buy me the first beer or glass of vino.

Now booked into Holiday Inn Express due to change of plans.
Early start to pick passenger up from Stop 24b at Junction 11 at 8.30am.

Therefore will be there by about 7pm and perhaps Jack and Maureen may fancy the delights of our normal eating house in Folkestone?

Just to let you know I have been in contact with Charlotte at Nissan events and the hotel to enquire about car park access. We should now have above ground car parking in front of the hotel for those who need it. Certainly my lowered gtr, with carbon do luck splitter won't get up or down the ramps of an underground car park.

Rgds Chris

Although I am staying at the Holiday Inn Express, I will still meet you all at Stop 24 as I am picking up my passenger there at 8.30am.

Also spoke to Charlotte about parking at the hotel, and have had confirmation of a parking slot without having to ramp up or down.

Also, make sure that you (we) try to get into the high level vehicle lanes at the Eurotunnel as the ground clearance is no problem at all. If you take the normal lane then you will probably ground your front splitter on entry to the train.

Great idea John. We should be at HIE long before 7pm and we'll probably be relaxing in the bar when you arrive.

All I've got to do today is buy a sleeping bag for the wondrous Nissan tent.
