Unhappy Sky on-line quoting does not work

Ollie, I've just had a frustrating time with the Sky Club Scheme quick quote, it disnae work crashes half way through, so I'm fed up entering the data again and again.

I'd like a quote on my R33 GTR, and yes, I'm the guy that once posted that I would not ask for a quote from Sky but that was based on a bad experience with Sky 4 years ago, I'm hoping things have changed for the good and you will not hold it against me

Is there a way I can email you my details to get the ball rolling ? Insurance is due 3 weeks from now and I'm doing the annual rounds.

Thanks in advance,

Ian

Update : just checked my email and the Sky WEB site quoting has sent me 13 identical emails saying it can't quote !

Interesting ..... and that was the reason I never went with Sky 4 years ago ..... quoted me £650 ("best they could give me") a full £200 more than anyone else. Did not want to re-quote, just said hard cheese, or words to that effect, truly awful phone manners, and were not interested in the business.

But I'm willing to try again, although they will have to be very good with their "GTROC discount", I'm looking for a lot less than your A-Plan one, considering I'm old and retired, and have 3 other cars, and years and years of no-claims.

I think the only difference between our quotes would be made by different postcodes and overnight storage arrangements.

Hi,

we have an issue with our online facility which is currently being investigated, I'm picking up feedback about this all over the place this morning. Apologies for the inconvenience. The online facility (when it works!) is good for a rough indicative price, it does assume a lot of information, eg garage parking, mileage, occupation, no claims/convictions etc. If you need a confirmed quotation, please speak to us on the phone, you can request a call back via the link below:

Car Club Insurance Scheme from Sky Insurance

Thanks

Just a quick comment on this, we are an insurance broker, if we are given a price, that is the price. It is not a case of not being interested, we do not dictate the rates given to us unfortunately. If our quote is uncompetitive when comparing to other insurers, we will go back to our underwriters and see if they wish to re-quote but it is their decision whether they adjust the price.

Thanks

Ollie

There are many factors which go in to insurance risk profiling, eg age, NCB, mileage, where the vehicle is kept, previous experience/car ownership, named drivers, claims, convictions, other vehicles in the household, etc etc. Comparing one price to another doesn't really work.

Hi Ollie

Just left you a PM, I'm actually just of the phone with Sky, got a quote, the PM has my contact details.

By the way my comment above was from over 4 years ago, this time around I'm happy with the telephone service, no issues at all ..... apart from the price .....

Hi,

yes, £130 ish out on price but a very good price from a competitor who I'd have no hesitation in recommending. I feel though, if you do continue to shop around, you'll find our price and level of cover is much better than others on the market .

Thanks again for giving us a try.

Comparing one price to another does work.

The details given to both Sky and A-Plan were identical.

Yet a 50% price difference was the outcome. So, I compared prices and went with the cheapest.

Apologies but you have misunderstood me, I was referring to comparing the price you pay against what another member pays.

Thanks

Took out insurance today with Sky and very happy with service and price.

Initially I telephoned Competition Car Insurance to proceed with the quote that I received approx one month earlier, only to be told that there CHARGES had gone up recently and therefore my premium would have increased. I was then quoted just over £200 more than the previous quote.

I then decided to call Sky, having remembered someone on here praising them and I was quoted £300 less than CCI. The cover was also more comprehensive

Lol.

Just tried the "online quote" and it claims my car is an Auto and I can't change it to manual.

Given up, I'll use the tried and tested phone come renewal time.
