rb26 keeps running hot!

ok i finally got my car on the road but she like to start running hot. so today i decided to check the thermostat out and flush the system. i pulled the water neck off and I had no thermostat in. I flushed out the engine and rad until no more orange rust water came out. Let her idle in the drive way for 10 mins revving it every little while and the needle never budged. Took her on the road and she started to climb to the H. Wtf. Seems like the water pump is working but fins might be worn. Guess I should replace it before I do the head gasket. anyone have any other ideas? i going to get the nismo water pump but i have to save up a little before i can order it. bills are due right now. And yes i bleed the car. i jacked it up as high as i could and took the bleeder screw out and i shoot out water.
I have a mishimoto rad with two pushers mounted to the front. they are cheap ebay ones for now, i was just trying to get the car running.
But they do seem to cool the water down. if i turn off the car and let her sit for 5 mins start her and let the water run through shes back to normal. will just sit and idle

P.S. its a rb26 single turbo converted to rwd in a s14 chassis

I have to wonder if the fans are the problem, The stock Nissan fan is very powerful and keeps air moving at all times, the electric ones wont kick in until its hot and then may not have enough power to cool it back down.

Do you have the viscous fan still ? or one you could borrow and try before going in for deeper investigation ?

i am kinda leaning towards the fans also but i would like to put a new n1 pump on it anyway as this is a good upgrade anyway and money well spent. so if it is still the fans after wards i wont be upset. no i dont have the stock fan, i did not get it with the swap

The pump will only make a difference if the old one is worn/corroded. I think If it where me I would still put the viscous fan back on after (or maybe even before) to see what happens, It would be unfortunate if you find the cooling improved due to the worn pump being swapped but its only just keeping up, if you know what I mean, ideally you want your cooling system to easily cope, not only just cope...

Besides, the viscous fan serves to keep air moving under the bonnet, so has greater benefits than just cooling the rad.

Let us know how you get on

Is the radiator hot when temperature is rising?
When driving, the air that goes throigh the radiator should keep it cool ish.

Dont put a N1 pump on it. They sometimes pump to fast and cause overheating. Are your electric fans mounted the right way round?

Is it a road car? Standard Nissan pump then. N1 pump IS NOT an 'upgrade' on a road car.

Wonder if the N1 was designed to be underdriven?... or possibly the cars had other faults that where shown up by the higher flow of the pump, or maybe they where revving higher and cavitating, i'm quite curious as to what the cause may be...

I have one, seems to work perfectly.
