PITTING WHEELS

hi all
Just noticed my black edition wheels are starting to get small pit marks on the rim between the spokes. Very small at the moment.
Front wheels are the worst but happening to rears as well to a lesser degree.
Has anyone else had this problem and did it get sorted under warranty. ?
Thanks

All four of mine are the same. Would warranty cover such a thing? Tell me quickly - I have 5 days left

Brake dust and filings guys.

Not covered by warranty.

Thats why we powdercoat so many GTR wheels as this makes cleaning a whole lot easier.

I am like others sure that Robbie is right but it is always worth asking your HPC. My friend's wife had a Toyota Celica which developed pitted alloys and I didn't think they would but they were all replaced with brand new ones just before the warranty expired. Of course GTR is a Nissan but if you don't ask you will never get.

I'm in the habit of washing the car weekly at the moment by hand so am hoping this will help keep the wheels tidy!

Yes treg I do the same car has only got 8500 mile on it on a 59/10
Can't vouch for previous owner
Had the car 2 months now
To me it's a warranty issue they should not be pitting with that kind of mileage
But what do I know

Mileage hasn't got a lot to do with it.

Do 10 miles then leave your car standing for 2yrs without a wash, same result.

Don't think anybody is gonna leave a car like the GTR going that long between washes
In today's age you can't tell me they can't design a wheel finish to be more resistant to brake dust and filings.
Had plenty of cars where I ain't had no problem with pitting

I have the same mate and only done 12.5k miles in over 3 years, put it down to crap coming off the brakes as I used to get little filings stuck on at times too.
Mine is usually washed after every drive so I know regular cleaning does diddly to prevent it.

I have found when the car is new if you treat the wheels with a proper wax , this stops the brake dust and filings from skicking to the surface . I think there is now a product on the market by armour all which is less effort and does the same job. Alternatively upgrade to carbon ceramic brakes as i had a set on my last car and brake dust was almost zero.
