my air con seems reluctant to work sometimes, if i unplug the wire that runs to the sensor to the right of the ashtray in centre colomn my air con clicks in every time but will only work on force cold as it seems to deactivate the climate control. is that sensor the in car temperature sensor ?

it picks up the in car temp to work the climate control i think, if i leave mine plugged in my climate control works but air con is sometimes reluctant, if i unplug it heater stays on hot but when i go into force cold on the controls air con works perfect. so im changeing that sensor as a starting point.

My G50 would do something similar, I thought it was the ambient temp sensor mounted behind the front bumper. When the A/C would stop working, the exterior temp would read an extremely high number, like 150 degrees. I replaced that sensor and nothing changed.

I did some research & that symptom was typical for a failed controller. So I bought a new HVAC controller head & it solved the issue permanently so I didn't bother replacing the interior temp sensor. Have you noticed your exterior temp readings being obviously faulty when this issue occurs?

whats a hvac controller head ?

i dont seem to have any fault codes but it seems strange my air con works as soon as i unplug the inlet temp sensor.

the sensor that does show odd on a/c test is called a "suction temperature sensor" the temperature of that is -30c on a/c diagnositic check.

The display that you select hot, cold, auto, defrost, fan speed, etc. The single DIN sized main controller in the dash. Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning.

If the suction temperature sensor is the interior sensor, then there ya go! Some of them have little tiny fans mounted with them that "suck" in the cabin air past the sensor for greater accuracy.

It is, one for outside, one for inside.
Controller uses the values from both to create the temp the user has set.
Usually if one of these two sensors buggers up it reads at a super cold temperature, and then the controller tries to compensate by pumping lots of heat in.
Full cold / full heat are helpful overrides to bypass these variables.
