First outing with ProEcu cable
I recieved my cable from Iain yesterday.
I had a stage 4 courtesy of Litchfields back in April - car has been fantatstic. Recently I felt the car was not running quite as smoothly as it was, I contacted Iain who offered to loan me one of his new ProEcu cables. I decided this was going to be a sensible bit of kit to have in the garage moving forward so decided just to purchase. Got the software loaded onto the laptop easily. Took a few rounds of downloading to catch up with all the updates. Iain then supplied me with my map file which I also loaded. He also supplied me with a list of the parameters he wanted logged and what I needed to do with the car in terms of acceleration, moving through the gears etc when I took the car out. At this stage its worth mentioning that the 'help' doc that is available is very useful for familiarising yourself with the system. Now for the hardest part - I thought OK, wide open throttle from 1500-2000rpm, moving through 3rd up to redline, full boost - easy. Wrong. Two problems - it was raining heavily and secondly my bit of chosen road was just too short! I've driven my car hard on occasions but this is the first time I've conducted several top end runs together and I don't often take the car up near 7000rpm. Car covers the ground so fast its unbelievable. So choose your stretch of road wisely. Anyway I logged quite a bit of data and have e-mailed the files to Iain for analysis. The amount of information that can be gathered is incredible, and for those that know what they are looking at it must be hugely beneficial. In my opinion this is going to revolutionise Ecutek mapping in the UK - independents like Litchfields will be able to spread their good work even further afield. I'm no techno wizard but the whole process seems so straight forward. I suppose the next step for me might be a reset of my map or a new map altogether, I'm not sure but hopefully that will be as simple a procedure. One other point of note - I decided I would take a passenger along when I was logging (to hold onto the laptop and start/ stop the logging) - I decided to take my wife. Can I suggest its written into the user manual that no one takes their wife along when doing this (not unless they are a real petrol head). I'm not sure she'll ever get back in the car And sorry Iain your name is mud as all I kept saying was 'but Iain needs us to accelerate so hard' ...... ![]()

She will still be able shake and nod her head to acknowledge your instructions ![]()

I love taking passengers out.
They think it's fast at 30% throttle then a few miles later you get the holy sheet moment.
