TDs or Compomotives??

So I finally bought an r33 - got it from Andy (R32 Combat) - top bloke. Anyway the car has TE37's in 19" that are amazing wheels but a bit big for my liking so I'm looking at 18's.

So far I'm looking at Team Dynamics Pro-race 1.3s (if I can get the right size and offset) or some Compomotive MO6's. Does anybody use either of these and can anybody offer any views? Ideally be good to see some pictures as well if poss.

Other option would be some Rota GTRs.

Any views/comments etc welcome

Cheers,

Rota gtrs will look the best IMO and whilst they're not high quality wheels I would bother with anything else on uk roads, they're simply too poor!

I do like the way they look but always try and go for the best wheels I can afford in case I ever want to take the car on track.

i run compo's on my R33 ( white compomotive mo's in 18 inch) look awesome in my opinion have to run 25mm spaces to make it look right.

mine will be for sale in a week or two if your still looking.

Any pics would be great - If I go for Compomtives I'll look to get them made with an ET of around 10 rather than run spacers if possible.

posting off my phone at the mo so cant post pics but check my project thread called "tibs R33 gtr" plenty of pics of my car on there with the compos on.

compo's are expensive new in gtr fittment (about £250+ per wheel) you would be better off buying secondhand and running spacers, plenty of gtrs running spacers just make sure you get hubcentric ones

Re sizes I'm thinking 18x10 ET12 with a Falkern 452 275/35/18 tyre - anybody running this and can tell me if it fits with no arch rolling required?

you might find 275's rub on the front, i would be more inclined to run 265's or 255's

Yeah was thinking that - not too fussed abut going for 265's or even 255's.

I run 275 40 18s on a 32 (which has less clearance than a 33 I believe) and had minor rubbing on the front, nothing that couldn't be sorted though

Fairly chunky sidewall on that, how do you find them?

I think it gives it a real Group A stance, more of a race look as they fill the arches. I'm not a fan of really low profile tyres. As for driving they take the edge of my coilovers which tbh are rock hard on the softest setting, they also tramline less than 265/35/18s I've used previously

I know what you mean re super low profile tyres and coilovers, but harsh! Be interested to see some pics if you have them mate?

Looking around seem to be a few names offering decent fitments but know nothing about them,

XXR (various)
Ultralight (Nurberg in 18x9.5 et10)
Hyperzero

Any views?

I've got Compo MO6's on my grey 32 in gold, they look nice, I'll try and find a pic for you.

Here is a link to the for sale topic I bought the wheels through, which came off another grey 32...

Compomotive MO6's
