Titan 102/4 exhaust

This exhaust was supplied by GTC racing and i must say the build quality and construction is above excellent. It took a days work to fit but a lot of time wasted when removing old exhaust due seized bolts at the downpipes. The titan slotted into place very easy as bracket alignment was spot on. The air/fuel ratio seems to be the same, thats with running Benn map.

DOWNSIDE. the blue exhaust tips would have liked to keep with the original chrome look.on motorway driving drone from exhaust, and will it pass emission on MOT due cat removal. Will have to contact Benn and see could the noise be dropped a bit, its hard to please all the people all the time

Thanks Dinny, glad your mostly happy.

The trouble we have is that not everyone wants the same tips, some want slashed, some vented, blue/purple, silver

MOT wise yes you'll pass as you still have downpipe cats installed.

btw here is a report from Mike wadworth in U.S who has an forged 3.8 + alpha10

Mikewads GTC Titan Race 102mm Exhaust Install - R35 GT-R - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club

I've been wanting to get a larger exhaust system to complement my Alpha 10 turbo kit for sometime now, so I recently ended up choosing the Titan Race exhaust offered by GTC. What sold me on this system was the fact that its 102mm, the rear section is made out of titanium, its priced right, and both Ben and Sam (VegasGTR) convinced me that I would be happy with the sound.

It took about 5 working days to receive it from the UK to my door which was quick and everything arrived safely. The first thing I opened were the massive, blue rolled tips which look really good on my blue GT-R! The GTC 102mm midpipe dwarfed the HKS 85mm midpipe yet still weighed 5 lbs less!

Below is a breakdown of the weight difference between HKS Legamax from my car and the new the Titan Race system.

HKS Resonated Y-Pipe - 19 lbs
GTC Y-Pipe - 17.5 lbs

HKS Midpipe - 12 lbs
GTC Midpipe - 7 lbs

HKS Rear - 31.5 lbs
GTC Rear - 32 lbs

After installation I noticed the tips on the right side were a just a tad bit higher than the left, so I installed 3 washers (12 total) between the body and the two exhaust brackets on the right side of the car which lowered the tips down for a perfect balance between the left and right.

The system sounds great! I was a little nervous about losing the resonator, but to me its no louder than the HKS Legamax that I had on the car previously.

Enjoy the photos:

Here fitted to Dezso in Hungary

These are in stock now and available from our dealers svm. helping to produce some good results on f.man, JH, Jurgen, Hulk etc...

What's the advantage of a 102 over a 90 ? when the 4 tips at the back are the same size.

The diameter of the piping is bigger.

Bigger piping = better flow

Ok, what flows more out of these two pipes ? A 22mm that reduces to 15mm or a pipe that is 15mm ?

You can't flow any more air than the most restrictive part. You can make the exhaust 4ft wide in the middle but if either end reduces no gain.

True, but the tips aren't the most restrictive part of the exhaust system.

The piping leading from the back box to the tips is the narrowest diameter piping.

This piping is wider on the 102mm than on the 89mm.

Therefore you get better flow on the 102mm vs the 89mm.

That's the way i understand it anyway. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong...

If that's true then the 102 headline isn't the making of this exhaust. Looking at my 90, I'd say the piping looks larger from the split to the rear boxes than the 102.

I suppose we really need an answer off Ben and the dimensions of the exhaust.

To my eyes the piping leading from the back boxes to the tips looks bigger on the 102 than the 90.
