I'm pretty sure Nissan will not give you a new one. There's got to be a reason why it's missing, it could be a legitimate reason but then again it could be to hide something

Edit: Just to put it in to perspective, my R33GTR that I had a fair few years ago had the blue tag missing because it had been cloned, but the police had given it a new VIN number so it was all legit. I had every bit of paperwork to back all this up

Chassis number on the bulkhead intact and not tampered with? If so, I wouldnt worry as much.

ok so its posible the tag can be taken for a clone? the car seems legit to me i dont wanna buy a motor and be stuck with it after...the seller is keen to have me do any sort of check on the car..so what can be done to have the problem sorted?

Ohhh, I was starting to get worried thinking, I don't remember seeing a blue tag. Plate is a more suitable word.

The police removed the tag on my old car and destroyed the vin number on the firewall. They gave it a new vin number which they stamped into the driver side strut top.

This was all done before I owned the car when it was in the possession of the original owner. Like I said, I had a big wad of police correspondence and contact numbers/names that backed everything up. That's what put my mind at rest.

The original owner was a member here, then so was the owner who had it off him, then there was me, I then sold it on and I think it changed hands a few times since and now the current owner is also a member here so it's gone full circle.
