Front Lip removal

Hi,

I drove over something (not alive!) and it has scuffed and deformed my front lip. It looks pretty irreversible and so I think I will need to buy a new lip. Can anyone give any advice on how to remove the lip? I had a quick look, not sure what tools would be needed.

Cheers.

Its pretty straight forward form memory, remove all the rubber blanking plugs under the lip and disconnect all the bolts and speed clips from the front most diffuser and then all the 6mm head bolt under the lip and it will drop down and you can then remove it.

I saw a front lip being repaired with a heat gun at one of Robbie's early BBQ's - it was amazing how much deformation recovered. It might be worth taking a pic and sending it on to Robbie?

Any good bodyshop should be able to repair it.As Karls said it is suprising what they can do with a heat gun and a bit of filler!

I would imagine a new one would cost a fortune.

the actual lip is rivetted to the undertray. So to separate them you will need to drill each rivet out (there's about 20!).

We have used but good condition stock front lips and brand new carbon lips in stock if you are interested. Think i might even have a stock lip but wrapped in carbon vinyl laying around something too.

Thanks for the info.

Nedzilla - I think the oem ones are about £650 new but you can pick up carbon fibre ones for about £300.

knight-racer - how much are your used ones?

I don't really want to spend too much , as I am off to Australia at the end of the year and so will have to sell my car anyway...
