I don't know, but that's what I put in my engine. Nicely made, quite light for their complex construction, and I got the titanium coated top rings, too. Time will tell if they were a good choice.

a friend of mine who builds engines for bill richards told me that he was once involved in an ex F1 williams engine.....the rods were ununiform in weight, over 1 gram difference from one to the next

im surprised you had piston slap on the C20LET yunis....i didnt have piston slap and i was on 0.006 overbore which is the maximum they recommend, did you build it?, check it?

Tomei do 2 types, the Forged set and the forged `cooling` channel set. The cooling channel set are 2*the price of the `normal` forged set.

Chris - did your Tomei ones come as a kit ie with a full ring-pack or do you need to order everything seperate? Thanks.

My Tomei cooling channel pistons came with a stock ring set, I then decided to go for the coated rings and ordered them separately. I believe it's possible to order them with the coated rings from the start though. AFAIK these are the only ones in the UK

I tried them back in 2002 when they first made a few LET batches.. I then reverted bach to the mahles.. they too were .006 and never had such issues.

thats for a 500bhp-600bhp LET nitrous engine yunis!!, its ment to seal on the strip with the turbo and nitrous pumping not at tickover!

an LET on that overbore would have only lasted ten thousand anyway mate

for your spec (circa 350bhp) you would have been better off with 0.004 (4 thou) which strangely enough is the recommended overbore for RB26DETT on JE's

still i had a set of JE's arrive yesterday so ill update this thread after say 5000miles

I go for JE pistons aswell
must be THE best piston for the amature engine builder who knows the spec he wants
JE will make the piston to what you require for a cost that is excellent
the quality is stunning and as already mentioned top fuel dragsters use them which is the ultimate in piston engines use IMHO

tipical JE custom made piston

Sometimes you get what you pay for....... If it's good enough for all the RS Cosworth's out there, all the Audi RS's out there and all the US Indy cars out there, then that's good enough for me (and most mere mortals)

Goes with the territory. Pay peanuts, get monkeys.. just joking!

Cosworth made JUN pistons are the works.

Somebody knows if Cosworth is still supplying F1 GrandPrix teams?
