Just bought my first skyline, which I have been waiting almost a year for the right one to come along. I did want one imported from Japan, however when I saw this I knew it was the right car. Its a 1996 R33 Gtr VSpec in silver.

It benefits from having a engine rebuild by Ron at RK Tuning and is currently running 450bhp, Ron has done an amazing job on the engine, its smooth as silk!

Had a good day at MGT Racing, both Mark & Garth inspected my R33, and i'm happy to say that I've bought a minter. The under side is VERY clean and all the chassis etc is all straight and all nicely under sealed! Mark was very happy with the state of the car.

I've got a small oil leak coming from the gearbox, which Mark quickly rectified as the boot under the gearstick, so I'll be sorting that out. Apart from that its all perfect.

Few pics of the progress.. who rebuilds an engine and doesn't have the camcovers done?* :D

As you can see It's got very clean untouched strut tops which is also another reason I bought it.

Camcovers stripped. what a task this was! Off to the powdercoaters tomrrow along with some brackets which I thought I will have done at the same time.

Lol also very interested in getting my cam covers done. Where are you taking them.

Is the job going to be immaculate.

I've been told to be very careful when getting the covers painted as it can block breathers and possibly damage the engine.

3d Finishers in coventry. The guys will be blocking up the camcover breathers etc properly before doing it, I used paint stripper to get most of the paint off then went over it with a wirewheel attachment on a drill to save them being blasted or dipped.

I've gone for candy red for the covers and black for the brackets etc.

Also the strutbrace and twin turbo pipes are going to be silver.

Cheers buddy :)

Few parts arrived today, which included an RK gearbox Baffle plate, replacement gearbox boot, new 13x7 rear number plate, aero front wipers and a 3" decat.

Shifter removed, cover plate off

Baffle plate fitted

It's all back together now, so hopefully no more oil leaks! RK Tuning stock the baffle plate and replacement boot at a very good price! Ron is a top bloke :smokin:. I replaced the rear number plate as the old one looked square and odd.. Also the exhaust system has two decat silencers, one by the gearbox and one by the rear diff, which makes the exhaust very quiet, so I picked up this 3" straight pipe decat and hope to release some noise, I will be replacing the one by the gearbox and then see if that makes it louder, if not then I'll be booking the car at a local custom exhaust specialist to have the rear silencer removed :D

Powdercoater did an epic job and I was speachless when I went to pick the stuff up, I'll be using his service from now on and hope to get alot more parts done on the GTR. It came out just how I've always wanted it. Ignore the dirty CAS, a (I may polish up the CAS for now though).

Currently thinking about sanding back the RB26 on the belt cover..

Undersides done too...

Some brackets done

Strut brace and bonnet stay

Also had the turbo pipes done matching the strut brace*
Back together:
