if youve not done this sort of thing before, and you want to do most of it yourself, I think you should try something that has been done before, its much easier to get help when you get stuck (and you will get stuck!)
saying its not going to be a simple job is an understatement!!! (the next bit is making me sick just thinking about it! )buy a 32GTR then just take a grinder round the bottom of it and throw the top away do the same to your fiat, and just glue the two halves together! ![]()

actually, and no disrespect intended, why not start off with a better car in the first place?
i mean if you simply want to do do something differennt, maybe to impress the coupe crew then by all means do it, but if its to create a car that will be a street sleeper, and a joy to drive, why not start off with a different car, or at least keep your ideas to the same platform. I say again the Integrale running gear has been done before, and is obviously the simplest/best combination for a coop. in my honest opion it sounds like a compltete waste of time, and this is coming from someone with a brother who has a Coupe lump in a Punto mk1 and his friend with an Integra Typre R lump in an original mini. mook

not doing it for any kudos among other coupe owners!!its like buying a car that your amtes like!!
remember people saying it was impossible to put a man on the moon and that the world was flat!!! anyway i havent said i am doing the skyline engine conversion i asked for info on the engine,box,suspension ect so i can guage how big the whole lot will be and if it will fit!!! have just bough a workshop manual anyway so should be able to get most of the info from there! to the guy on about the punto-is it minifreek? beast
