You can speak to someone on here who has gone down the Mocal route. Mocal will probably be the cheapest option.

Although you will need to make up the kit, i.e. take off plate, remote filter plate, thermostatic sandwich plate (optional), hoses (aeroquip/rubber), and all the bends etc

While they couldn't fit a mocal based kit in the time frame I was looking for a couple of months ago, I spoke to Ron at RK tuning about getting a kit for my 33. What he came up with and the reasons for it seemed very reasonable, as did the price quoted (compared to the likes of HKS etc....).

Come the next European trip I do it's probably something I'll think about doing again.

Cheers.

Reasonable price
everthing seems expensive for GT -R`s
I had one fitted last year by Abbey and its probably the best thing that i`ve done, keeping the temp just over 70, you can drive your car harder for longer which is so enjoyable.don`t worry to much about the cost your engine temp will be so much better.

Contact Thinkautomotive in Islesworth as they manufacture Mocal.

Quite a few of us have gone this route, I will post up part numbers later in the day if you want.

Best regards Alan

Mocal vote here too

It will be a fraction of the cost of one of the big brands & work just as well

Replacement hoses for uk spec R33

Does anybody have a list of the hose specifications fitted to the uk spec R33 GTR's for all the oil coolers, pumps etc?

I've had to replace a couple, but it's quite a time consuming process, as I have to take the old hose to a company to get them to make a copy.

If I had the full spec of the hoses I could ask them to just make a full set and replace them all at the same time.

Can,t help with the UK spec Parts but here are the Mocal parts as requested

The list below is how it appeared on the ThinkAutomotive invoice.

13 ROW COOLER 230MM Part Number OC5137-10 Qty 1
3/4 UNF WITH 1/2BSP TOP PORTS Part Number TOP1 Qty 1
F/HEAD RIGHTHAND IN/OUT NO T/O Part Number RFH3B Qty 1
SANDWICH PLATE THERMOSTATIC Part Number OTSP1 Qty 1
ALI M/M ST-10JIC X 1/2BSP Part Number MMA-10-8 Qty 4
1/2 BSP SEALING RING Part Number SR1/2 Qty 4
ALI M/M ST-10JIC X 1/2NPTF Part Number FBM2009 Qty 2

All the above cost around £125, Then you have the hoses on top. Depending on what you chose it will cost you up to £205 extra for the top spec hoses with swival ends. This was the cost of mine approx 2 years ago. I can not confirm that these are todays correct part numbers but they were correct when I got mine made up. I simply went to them with a filter and asked them to make a remote kit up for me. Approx 20 mins later I had all the parts less the hoses as I did not know what lenths I needed. I found the people there very helpful. When I returned with the lenths of hose I needed another 20min wait and they were made up for me.

Still a damn sight cheaper than the jap alternatives. The only thing you will have to do is manufacture a bracket to mount the remote filter.

Hope this helps

Best regards Alan
