Guys!
Tuesday 19th April is a special day!! There's a Tsukuba trackday on by Nishiki!
So, either 2 x 30 minute sessions for 16,000 Yen or 4 x 30 min sessions for 32,000 Yen!
Tsukuba's a special circuit. Very technical to drive, but also very safe with plenty of run off and gravel, etc. There will be aroun 50 cars in all, out on different sessions, ranging from Eunos Roadsters, to AE86's, right the way through to high power GT-R's. It's a friendly bunch of people with good ettiquette. If you're faster, they just let you by. It's not a race, but a chance to drive your car to your limits, learn track technique and enjoy it to the full. There may be a race driver there to give instruction for those who want it.
Each car gets a transponder and all laps are timed, at the end you get a printout of your times.
This is the best time of the year to go, as it's still fairly cool but not so cold the tyres won't grip, the weather's usually good too. So the cars will be in peak weather conditions for some good lap times!
My RX-7's going in for a turbo upgrade on 4th April, to be finished on 14th April, in time for playing with... Should be fun with a Knight Sports SS480 (TO4E based) conversion, lightweight flywheel and uprated clutch, at a bar or so...!
May also take my AE86 to do some drifting practice with too.. !
It's important if any of you want to come, to make sure your brakes have plenty of pad life left. Definitely more than half, as you'll eat through the brake discs otherwise, when your pads wear out! Tyres can be road tyres, or S tyres. Whatever you want. Make sure your oil is topped up to just above the dipstick, as you'll be cornering hard too!
Your brake fluid should also be changed if it's not had a flush in the last year, to avoid boiling over in the event you have some water in the system (Brake fluid is hydroscopic, it absorbs water). If your brake fluid is anything but clean, then change it. Cars will need to have the lights taped and you'll need a helmet. Clothes should be trousers and LONG sleeves. You won't be allowed out in T-Shirt and shorts! Also, you'll need to wear driving gloves. Bring your driving licence too. That's all you'll need!
To register, call Car Shop Nishiki on 047-358-1777. Fax: 047-358-1778.
If you need any assistance in English, either I or Atsushi Ihara can help (A friend of Nishiki's, who speaks perfect English - Also used to own a special Midnight Purple 3 R34 GT-R thats now in the UK!).
DCD'ss already indicated he's up for this. Bean, Gio, would be awesome to have you guys there too. I'm sure people would love your cars and you'd have a great time!
Let's get as many of us as possible together on this!! It's the most fun you can have with your trousers on!!
