Self locking doors

Ive noticed that that the passenger door on my R32 locks when my car picks up speed... about 40km or so... is this, normal, or a factory option or just odd???

also, anyone know how to turn off the beeping when the car is put into reverse??

no alarm on the car at all (yet) thought the central locking was buggered at first, but that works and i actually heard the door lock... i suppose ill just have to think of it as a 'feature' on my car!

ill start removing random fuses when i get in tonight!!!

I have noticed my passenger door lock make various locking/unlocking noises at strange times. Didn't notice the speed though and I don't think it does it all the time. Mind you I don't think I'd really hear it over the exhaust.

Mine does something similar too. My central locking was buggered when I bought the car, when I got it fixed my passenger side door lock seems to randomly lock when I turn the headlights on. I haven't noticed the speed thing though, although I will keep an eye out for it now.

just been driving about testing the door lock thing... i think it seems to lock at about 4500 rpm... i think it maybe an anti-wuss device to stop people leaping out when your about to boot it...

then again... maybe it just know when im passing through a bad part of town!

I love the security of it! Mostly when I've got me boy in the front (he's 6) so I know he can't be pinched!

Also, it reminds me to lock my door when I hear the passenger door lock - something Draxx always asks me to do when I'm out on my own and I always forget

So nobody can pinch me either now!!! (though why they'd want to is anyone's guess......... )

All Soarers do this at 24kph/15mph on both doors, the drivers door is auto-unlock and the passenger side isn't , but a simple short out of 2 pins, (toyota part, £3.50) makes them both unlock when you remove the ign. key.

Quite a few cars seem to be getting this feature - suppose it also helps to keep the kids in (in addition to the nervous passengers .
