We had a dumb a$$ in the garage once who came out with a top at time quote he started by asking the hp on marc's skyline who said @ the time around 400 -450 bhp , the numpty then replied , thats pi$h in japan the can chip them to 1000hp with ,now wait for it.....a "Top Security Chip" well that took some holding back pmsl, its amazing just how many people become such experts after reading an issue of max power.he also claimed that his Rs turbo was 400 bhp @the wheels could work out which one to laugh at more with a mongoose and a dumpm valve, oh and musn't forget the induction kit, no cant forget that!! lol

top security lol
pmsl
theres some good feedgback from this thread lol
yeh dump valves are sposed to give about 15 bhp lol
i've heard some right stuff from 'tuning xperts' with these bangers
i started uni this yr and spent a while lol in colege and evry1 had a civic
every1 on about'VTI'
GT
did my head in
the only had a car when i was 19 and that was a starlet gt turbo-very quick

but as always it had less hp then every1 else and whenever they wanted to race their clutches were slipping n crap like that

this is a good 1
a tiwn turbo nitrous powered civic lol
had emulsion house paint on the outside lol a big spoiler hanging off and luks like sum1 used cement to flush the tailgate

wel this car was 'rapid for a 1 5'
the guy put and indcution kit on and said it giv me 40bhp but wait the best thing is that it lol added 15mph to the top speed so he put 2 on lol.

before i got my first car i used to stand at the bust stop and remeber thinkin how sad r theys guys but they did have cars-i shut them up when i got the gt for sure.

nowadays even them tacky vinyl stickers give a 'lot of bhp'

Remember one freak telling me his 2.8 cortina could beat my 400bhp stripped out Cossie cause it had a "Stage9 Superchip", remarkable how they even chipped a car with mechanical injection anyhow...

And this kid we know talking about his uncles new M3 to me n my mate whos got an M3EVO, he was making out this M3 was 430bhp and stuff, and we was talling him hes full of shit, and he goes "But its Superchipped and everything" my mate goes "Yea, and so is mine, and its not even 350bhp" and the kid goes "No, this ones SUPER Superchipped"

Funniest thing ive ever seen tho is someone who works for a well known tuning company going on about one of my mates old cars. Bloke goes "How powerfuls that?" mate goes "Over 400bhp" bloke has a look under the bonnet (everything visible under the bonnet is easily capable of 450) and goes "No way, i work for ************* and i know these cars, no way would that ever be over 350bhp" then my mates reaches into the door pocket and pulls out an Engine Dyno sheet for 403bhp and 400lb/ft of torque, and the bloke from the tuners goes quiet and skulks away....

When i got my car i was doing some work at a hotel in Marlborough Wilts,
This waiter asks me about my car and says "how fast". 0 - 60 about 4 - 4.5 secs i answer.
" my mates got a Honda Civic 1.6 and that will do 0 - 60 in 5 sec`s "
Really
"yes cause its got fuel injection"

So there you go we`ve obviously got no idea what we are doing with our cars

Indeed, very dead pan.

I had a guy come in recently with a (and I quote) 'fully kitted Vectra' (lots of washer jet LEDs and the like) he wanted to know the price of 'one of them back and forward gearshifts' I thought he meant a sequential so I said they generally cost about £8000 or so.... ...that put him off - but it turned out what he really wanted was gearshift buttons on the steering wheel.

The most common questions are

1) what is the top speed? (why the f=ck d they always ask that?)

and

2) Has it got NOS?

Ant.

I have to own up to liking the led lights and the neons but because the max's use them so much it kind of spoils it for me which is a shame really, if they are well done I think they can look pretty cool.
(or am I just showing myself up?)
