Don't worry, that is "new" prices, lol
There was a guy on the pulsar forum able to locate and sell cheap AFM's all brand new, think the zed ones were about 100 quid each

Ah the old... under £30... gift routine.. Nice one. Have you fitted? Re-mapped as yet? Be interested to hear how you get on. What is the engines spec so far and what do you hope to improve? Cheers

Just started collecting up the bits, got the Z32, trust air filters and 550 hks injectors to fit and re-map. Currently running stage 1 with uprated fuel pump, intercooler, HKS f con s ecu, Steel turbo's set up at Abbey's to 1.1 bar 366BHP ath approx 440 flywheel so that was about it for the standard injectors I think. Dan said I would be back Hoping to break the 500 at the flywheel mark, not sure if I will though. Hard pipes, cams would next

I see, logical steps.

How much were the injectors...? pm me if you preffer.

Also stupid question here but the injectors, AFM's & filters would this setup be tuned at the same boost level 1.1 bar and simply produce more power by virtue of the mods or will you be raising the boost also? Will the mods you are doing simply support more boost and that is the point of the gain?

Sorry getting head round the boost v other mods performance gains.

Theres a mathematical calculation for how much flow a AFM will support, once it exceeds this amount, no matter what else you do, you cannot increase bhp, a single zed AFM maxes out around 465 bhp, hence why we change to a dual one or use the larger Q45 for the bigger bhp cars. When you change over to them, it will allow you to run higher bhp without maxing out.
hth
cheers

I see, wonder if anyone has simply created the *tube* section seeing as you can simply remove the AFM part and drop into another unit..

Yep, Grahame goode does an upgrade for the scoobies whereby he supplies a new intake pipe which incorperates the section as used by the maf, welded in this pipe is a boss to accept the hotwire from the AFM, it also moves it closer towards the turbo to increase the pulsed air reading, thus slightly more power

Could use a bit of drainpipe from B&Q, but its a bit ghetto

Cost me all of £90 to upgrade to Z32 AFMs, once you take into account selling your standard ones. Can't see why you would want to do it any other way personally. Normally the reason for making your own stuff is the price, which isnt a factor in this case

This makes it clear to me, cheers. So the AFM's are mounted differently from the stock items thanks
