Vernon's GTR - New Engine

Well it's finally time to stop adding modifications and actually get the thing back and drive it for a bit.

For those of you who don't keep up, I love my 08 JDM and I love circuit racing so for me its all about making the heavyweight bruiser handle. I am hoping to be able to compete head to head with Jonny Cocker in the JCR GTR Track edition for the unofficial Road Car lap record at Silverstone which JCR currently laid down.

My new engine went in today that I have been sat on the fence about since December. The engine was the final piece of the puzzle with me having purchased, tested and refined every other aspect of the car before getting serious about the engine. But now is the time.

The Engine
I have chosen to go with the Litchfield 4.6 Red Top Race Engine with the BW-EFR 7163 turbos, Litchfield Manifolds, Full Headwork and full Capricorn block. To say I am excited is an understatement.

I am told I am joining a very exclusive club with less than 10 people actually owning this engine. My work is the amount of torque that this can produce and being able to control it coming out of corners but we'll just have to wait and see.

Now all I need to do in convince Ants101 to join the club

4.6 is a big capacity jump! It's going to be a bit of a torque monster.

Awesome. Is it run in yet? I remember talking to you about this at Silverstone in December. You must be well excited! And of course congratulations.

Shame you cannot make Saturday as I am sure you could have made use of the space. As well as setting a new 0-150 time for the register.

Yes its all run in. Iain runs these in beforehand because of the value of parts involved.

Yes would have been good to come along. Next tome for sure.

Hopefully you get a chance to put this on the rollers, the figures should be immense!

That is going to be incredible. I've seen the dyno results for these engines, you'll have some serious work to do trying to contain that.

I know it's not part of this thread but being a jap car, have you ordered the high res 2014 Sat nav conversion yet?

Surely it would be nice to make it into a full UK car?

Wow.

That looks like a serious investment.
Should go like a frigging missile!

Will the rest of the drivetrain cope or do you think you'll spend a bit of time chasing the weak link around?
I know the rest of the car is well sorted, but can it handle that power/torque reliably?

Would love to see what kind of figures it's making on Iain's new rolling road.

Good luck on beating the JCR.
