Drill the jet out a little bit, stuff it back in, take a run, record boost. Do it in small increments till you hit the boost level you want.

Let's put part of this battle to rest re: stock factory turbines exploding if you run more than 1.0kg of boost.

I know for a FACT that on my old Laurel with an RB20DET that I could run 1.0kg for short durations and NEVER had any issues with the turbines. I ran the car like that for 2 years on a boost controller with an R32 Skyline turbo (Skyline turbos were bigger than Laurel turbos).

As long as you aren't running more than 10-15 second burns at the higher boost, you're going to be fine.

*Let it be known this was on an RB20DET not a 26, and I am not sure the differences between the turbines on those two engines.*

Now, for those of you that run track days, or run 0-400 (1/4 mile) drags, maybe running 1.0kg of boost isn't a great idea on stock turbines.

I have to agree with the Aussie guys on this one, as I have read many different atricles and reports of this being the first mod to do with your GT-R, and it's even been printed, somewhere, that Nissan marked the hose with a band to let the new owners know where the restrictor plug was...so it could be safely removed.

As far as running my V-Spec with no restictor, here are my thoughts.

I'll find a piece of silicone hose the same diameter as the one with the restricor and just swap it out. I'll see what the boost reads at WOT. My driving style would never see the better side of 1.0kg as I rarely hit full boost driving around town. Hell, it doesn't even need the full hammer to merge into traffic on the highway.

I know I do this at my own risk and can blame no one by myself. I'll have the APEXi fliter kit, and the car already has the APEXi Dunk exhaust on it now.

I am not looking for a flame war, but I am just speaking from my own experience with a ceramic turbo'd car.
