You can buy the hose and seperate re-usable end fittings and make your own. Goodridge, Earls, Aeroquip and loads more companies sell these for the race car market. I made all my own hoses for my GTS-t, using stainless hoses and fittings.

slightly old thread but ...

chris, i'm look into getting the bits off earls and making a set of hoses for my r32gtst which has very similar brakes to the r33gtst.

i'm interested to know if you retained the 6inch or so hard brake pipe at the caliper end or if you ran braided lines all the way to the caliper?

the fittings are 10x1 inverted flare right?

I ran braided from the inner wing to the caliper, with race type re usble fittings. Like 99% of modern Jap cars the fittings are 10 x 1 mm thread, and the pipes are inverted flared, yes.

cheers chris, so that would be one end male for the caliper, one end female with a "circlip groove" for the inner wing end.

do you bother with any of the "locators" along the length of the hose i.e. those fittings in the middle of the standard hose with the "circlip groove" for the "spring clip" mountings that secure the hose as it runs from inner wing to caliper?

AlexJ:

I have stuck some photos i took of my front brake setup on my ftp server, go to

ftp://ftp.chriswilson.tv/

and look in the front_brakes folder, it should be clear how i tackled clipping the hose away from any source of rubbing, using rubber lined "P" clips. I used OE style inner wing hose ends in stainless with circlip grooves, these are available off the shelf from the likes of Goodridge.

All stock Goodridge catalogue stuff, although I buy my fittings at James Lister. Hope it helped you!
