Turbo Lag

Just had my stock turbo rebuilt with steel internals and a 360 thrust bearing etc. and whilst it's performing pretty well I seem to have a strange problem with lag. Basically the turbo begins spooling pretty quick but then it seems to gain a lot more power at 6000rpm and of course there's little room for this to be used before hitting the limiter.

I've tried all manner of different settings on the Profec B (including increasing the gain) but this has made no difference. I've also adjusted the actuator rod so there is a small amount of pretension and again no difference.

Just wondered if anyone had any other ideas what might cause this?

Cheers!

Is it a gtst? if so I had my unit rebuilt, Mine is a bit slower on the spool up, but when I get to about 5500rpm it tends to hold back and at 6000rpm it goes well again. might not be the same problem but the people I go to said it may be fuel starvation, so bigger injectors and fuel pump. Dont hold me to it but mines always done this since I started tuning it. hope this helps
