What's best, Powder Coat or Wet Paint?

What finish do you think is best to refurbish my wheels with?

The wet paint is a little cheaper but the powder coat is supposedly alot more durable? How about finish?

Any feedback apreciated?

Apparently you can't powder coat alloy wheels, as it needs to be baked higher than the temperature that the alloy gases at, so you end up with hundreds of blow holes which look like dust.

Paint or enamal are your best choices I think.

Yes you can powder coat wheels. We've had loads done. And it is a LOT more durable than paint.

Hi Cord,

I was gonna get the Powder Coating done at RB next week. I own the Silver R33 GTR that's in there at the moment getting the PFC and Tein Flex fitted plus a few other bits and pieces that is costing me a bloody fortune... I swear there's no end to the money you can spend on these cars.

TBH I'll more than likely go for the Powder Coating. See you tomorrow morning.

Cheers
Paul

You can powder coat alloy wheels.

Powder coating is a better, stronger finish
