Brake fluid

Which is the best type to get for the GTR 32 ? Silicone based, dot number etc ? Running vented fronts, redstuffpads and braided lines - ABS is active

Cheers - Mike

I would use DOT 5.1 silicone based fluid.

dont use silcone fluid it doesnt mix with other fluid and your car wasn't designed for it.

4 or 5.1 are OK as they are not silcone based. if drifting is hard on the brakes you'd want a high temp dot 4 fluid - something like MOTUL RBF600 or Castrol SRF with a +300c boiling point

5 is silcone based and not what you want.

We recomend the RBF600 dot4 for performance use as it has a very high boiling point.

Tyhe dot5.1 tends to be a long life fluid, will last longer under normall use but will boil quicker then the racing dot4 when driven hard.

Cheers

Simon.

Is there anyway you can flush old fluid out of brakes / clutch systems?
Just reading the pdf for RBF600 and says they recomend not to mix it with anything. Would running some meths and alowing to dry be ok, or would that damage stuff?

dot5.1 fluids tend to esther based.

probably the best brake fluid in the world is castrol SRF. and its not cheap. ATE super blue is another good one.
