i had problems with my old one, so replaced it, i thought it was the wrong size to start with. The prob im having is it discharges quickly, i only drive a mile to work and back and then it doesent get used properly till the weekend anyone got any suggestions on how to keep the batterie topped up (save me charging it every other day) regards jad |

1.) take the long way home, lots of really short journeys are bad for a battery, and even worse for your engine
2.) if you've got an alarm, immobiliser etc, it might be worth getting a small solar panel (search on here) alternativly if your car is garaged, theres quite a few battery maintainers about. also, you can get bigger batteries, as found in the micra (don't laugh) etc. or even get a gel battery etc. mook

it would be cheaper to buy a run around than go the long way home - seriously!
If you need to charge your car every day - then try upgrading to a micra battery - I ahve one fo these one my car - some people go for gel batteries etc but these arent readily available and are fecking expensive! I would recommend a new battery and a run around. |

Get rid of the tiny jap terminal connectors and get some decent sized ones, then you can pick the biggest battery that fits.I did this after finding the battery would only last about 6 months due to drain from the tracker.I went into Halfords and measured the batteries to see what would fit and chose the one with the best cranking power, they also do calcium batteries that are for cars that go on short journey or have lots of leccy things draining the battery..You also get a 3 year guarantee..

Or get a trickle charger, (these can be left connected for indefinite time) and will only come on and charge the battery when the voltage drops.
Like you had the same problem, with not using the car much and battery discharging. Put a new battery in, and now keep it trickle charged. Hasn't let me down once!!! |

carnt get a cheap run around I already run two cars, plus if i used a run around woudent the skyline battery go flat anyway, i never use it. I have a charger that I use once a week just to make sure its fully charged, might go the option of a bigger battery
thanks Jad |

Mine is fine now with a micra battery only being used on the weekends.
if you already have two cars - is the other one special or could that class as your weekday car and your skyline your weekend car? or are you lucky enough that its actually the other way round.... ![]() |
