gearbox removel

Hi All

Just,t taken the gearbox out of the car r 33 gtr not to bad a job BUT
there was not anuff gearbox movement "backwards" so had to take the clutch off flywheel etc as the bellhousing wld not clear the clutch
so im thinking when i bolt on the new clutch and try to refit the gearbox theres not anuff movement backward to slide it all back together
Is this normal or do i have to tilt the engine ???? or is it just me

Hope this makes sence

Looking from the rear to the front, you need to rotate the box about 70 degs clockwise to remove it whole...

To make it easier going back in, jack the engine up from the front pulley, using a block of wood between the pulley and the jack, I jacked mine up until the fan was touching the shroud, you need to slip the gearbox in at the same angle as the engine. When you remove it the engine moves with the weight of the box. Going back in is a different story, I also used some grease on the input shaft to ease it in.

Regards
Nito

lol, I tried that first too,

then I bought a transmission jack, much easier and safer! Especially with the 6 speed box!
