Exclamation new skyline

HI I just brought my first skyline R33gts-t not bad for a 18 year old aye.
And now its in the garage I was wondering if there were certain things I will need to check a and it and how to check them.
I also had it dyno'd and they couldnt get high boost out of it due to missfire I have new HKS iridium sparkplugs Ive been told this will do the trick but whats the chance that its the coil's if so how would I find out without stickin it on the dyno again.
Cheers
Lewis

Hi Lewis,
Personally without knowing about the car or any possible mods, its hard to tell what the problem could be.
If it has been dynoed at a reputable tuner/garage, and they suggest a cure to the problem, then i'm sure they would be correct. There are many reasons for misfire, plugs doesnt necessarily have to be one of them. If you still have problems after fitting the new plugs (assuming they are the correct ones ) then i would think about checking the fueling, and possibly the pipework. Could even be the AFM, or the ign amp or as you say, the coil packs.
If you havent taken it to a reputable tuner/garage, then i suggest you do. The advice from some places that are not so familiar with Skylines, can be more hinderance than help. Just as an example, a certain new member on here was told by his local garage that he didnt need a new cam belt as they dont have one because they are chain driven.........mmmm..... not my ideal mechanic.
