Rocket lift

Just borrowed a 3T Sealey rocket lift, and can report that it is, in fact, the best thing since sliced bread

Just shows the difference between a £25 jack from Halfords, and £100+ worth of proper professional equipment!

Anybody know where to get one? Not particularly a Sealey one, and preferably not tooooo expensive.

Jeff

If Sealey do a "Rocket Lift" jack, you can guarantee Machine Mart will stock exactly the same item under a different name. It's all made in China!!

Regards

We recently got a nice one from Snap-On, really low so it goes under the car without hitting the bumper of sideskirt, so much easier than having to drive up onto bits of wood!

pikey, when working on your car at home - do you put anyting under the jack to stop it making an impression on the tarmac? Or is this not a problem?

I have a 2 3/4 Ton Epco Longreach Jack it is fantastic,
It also has a twist Baynet which is spring loaded, Type opperation for lowering, rather than Cogs.

As a temporary lift it isnt a problem, the wheels are quite large and wide (for jack wheels)

The ramps I sat the car on for a week sank about half an inch into our road lol

Question Clearance

Does the jack you got from machine mart fit under the car? Just finished changing my wheels around and its a pain in the **** having to jack car with Nissan jack to give enough clearance for trolley jack! Mind you I was using the dreaded £25 Halfords job

As I recall I needed a block of wood to allow it to go under the front splitter, but I have an aftermarket splitter that sits at least another inch lower than the factory splitter so you might be alright with just a standard one
