Oddball plenum

Just realised today looking at my plenum, it has a welded metal peice with a washer and bold on each of the 6 branches that connect to the TB's

I never realised this until today, and looking at some other GTR's they dont have them...

what is the purpose of this???? can anyone help>?

Yup, looks like quite a serious nitrous instalation, would be running at least a 150shot if its direct port like that

Definitely either direct port nitrous kit, or six more injectors

Try and find any more tell-tale signs of nos - any holes drilled for a bottle mount in the boot? Evidence of a trigger switch within reach of the driver?

Its sound though mate, as long as you have no idle problems. If you do, use some PTFE tape to seal those bolts in

Alternatively - I'll swap my plenum with you

no tell tale signs of NOS at all on the car, no drilled holes etc I know the car did have a roll cage though

hmm if it was NOS with the owner in japan, no wonder my clutch is dead..do you seriously want to exchange the plenum? im up for it...

If they had used NOS would they have used bronze guides?

do these look like bronze ones?

The welded on boss's do look quite big for a direct port nitrous kit.

Think the possibility of 6 other injectors being fitted is a good idea.

Dont look to me like injector ports at all, not in the slightest, no provision for a rail, not aimed towards the inlet ports, and are threaded bosses...

Looks like perfect fit for 6x nitrous fogger jets tho...

It looks like an old plenum of mine.

Rod had the bungs welded on for me in case I wanted to fit NOS.

NOS is on the wrong side of the throttle bodies IMHO. 1 easy way to blow the Plenum off if you have a misfire on the GAS.
