Slight knock before oil pressure?

On 2 of the R32 GTR's we've got, when you first start them, before the oil is upto decent pressure, there is a slight knock from the offside of the engine bay, as soon as the guage starts moving it disappears, (maybe 1 or 2 seconds). Anyone got any ideas what it could be and is it normal?

Worn big ends mate!! I do know that you can get this on Fiat TwinCams, if you dont use a genuine filter. I'm not sure if the Nissan filters are the same, but the genuine Fiat have a valve which stops all the oil in the filter draining back through the pump, and into the sump.

This could be of help??

Regards

I always use genuine filters.
I thought you don't get big end noise on start up though, as I've been told by a few people, usually only under load when in too higher gear.
It's not bad, you've got to listen carefully to hear it and it lasts next to no time, just until the needle on the oil pressure guage starts to move, we thought it could be a lazy oil pump?

Rumbel from the bearings means only one thing
they are worn get the bearings changed before you have a engine
failure it will cost you big time if you spin a shell bearing.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I'm being paranoid, trying to let dad listen to the noise and I can't get it to do it now!
