Thats how it feels. It looks like a shit of a job, so i need typical Serious performance products that make the work of a mook both simple and highly effective.

Alex, whaddya got to clean a VERY dusty, not to greasy but some areas, engine bay?

Cheers buddy.

Hi chaps,

Sorry for the late reply!

A good cleaner will do the job (obviously! lol...). Meguiars do a gallon of All Purpose Cleaner which is diluteable and very effective for £12.50 (+£5 postage due to the weight of this product). Just put it in a spray bottle and use a paint brush to get in the nooks and cranny's and it will do a fab job on all surfaces. Then just go over the rubber and plastics with some sort of trim detailer and you'll get the new sparkly look!

You can use plastic/ rubber dressings as cleaners as well as they are mean't to lift surface dirt etc, use a paint brush to spread it on, let it sit for a little bit and then wipe off. You can then re apply for the 'dressed' look if you want to. Clearkote, Meguiars and Poorboys all do very good dressings at varying prices.

If you really feel the need to wash the engine bay, just cover everything electric with tinfoil or clingfilm, cover the airfilters if they are cone jobbies and also the altenator. Don't use any attachment on the end of the hose and don't drown everything in water... It's just to wash any excess dirt away.
I've done it several times with no probs at all but, obviously it's up to you and just be sensible .

Cheers.
Alex.

Cheers.

It comes as a degreaser + a sort of silicone 'detailer' spray (which is horrible imho)... The degreaser works well for a quick fix.

If the kit is more than about £8 though give me a shout, I'll have gallon sizes of All Purpose Cleaner for £12.50 in early next week, and that dilutes down between 4:1 + 10:1 so will outlast the CD2 by a country mile.

Cheers .
