Power Figures.

What kind of power figures can I expect post expert setup on my 1996 R33 GTS-T with, Full 5Zigen Exhaust, HKS De-cat, HKS Downpipe, Apexi induction kit, Apexi super AFC, Blitz SQV dump valve, bleed valve, boost gauge.

Engine and turbo are healthy.

Also what kind of Boost can I run without a Blitz FMIC? I will get one just when funds allow!

Want it running right as it may be a little time before I can afford a Blitz FMIC.

From the items you have on your car such as the Apexi super AFC the limiting factor for tuning your car will be the lack of Ignition timing control.

The GTS has a high Compression ratio as standard if you increase the boost pressure up your have trouble with Detonation. IMHO I would forget about the FMIC at the moment and invest in a programmble ECU and a Electronic boost controller and have the tuned on a reputable Dyno.

Even at standard boost pressure with the AFC set up correctly ( i.e tune the AFR to safe levels) your be getting around 260 bhp at the Flywheel ( this is an approx estimate)

hope this helps.

Hi,
When mapping cars on your Dynapack, are they set up for every gear to the redline? If they are, then excellent. If not, then to what rev range are cars mapped to?

Thanks.

That has helped thankyou, I've managed to get hold of a Hybrid intercooler, this I will fit soon, with a Walbro motorsport fuel pump + obviously what has been fitted already. Can I get an approximate figure in PSI for boost with all this kit on and properly set up with the AFC?

Sorry to be a bother but I will sleep easy then!

Gixxer,

I think i understand what you are saying , the cars are set up in one gear normally 4th. As most road car use a ECU that has only 1 map we only set up in 1 gear but we do vary the time of the runs to make the "walk" through the map at different speeds.. If you are lucky enough to have a top end MOTEC ecu you can have maps for all gears.

This allows you to map in the lower gears more agressively as the car will "move" through the map more quickly once you get into the higher gears you can map more conservately as the car will move though the map more slowly.

As most road cars have only 1 map you have to tune the car to run in the higher gear , this is wherer the car will have the most problem with DET. This is why you map a car to run top speed a little different to a car that is used for dragging. The top speed car will take a long time to "walk" through the map so it is more supcetably to DET.

hope this answer your question.

Spearmint,

I cant give you a answer We would need to run the car on the DYNAPACK to give a 100% correct answer. But the parts yo u have got and fitted will help with power your car can produce.

Ok cheers, once bits are fitted I'll arrange to come down.

In the meantime I would like to read the fault register on the ECU. How can I do this?

I assume it's the old paper clip shorting link and watch the flashes job.

Also where can I find a list of the fault codes?
