Gearbox & diff cooler kits

Does anyone know of a company that supply gearbox and rear diff oil cooler kits for a R33 GTRV.
Cheers

I looked at these, very expensive if you pay the shipping and tax - about £1000 for the pro kit. The pumps used are the 300ZX rear axel pumps made by Hitachi (as is the UK spec kits on the R34 GTR and Z-tune). I managed to make the same kit for the 2 gearboxes for alot less than ARC one, from various suppliers.

Others on the forum have made their own kits as well.

Is it a relatively simple job of replacing the fill and drain plugs with Goodridge fittings? Scavenge from the drain plug, braided hose into an electrical pump (like the 300zx unit) through cooler core then back into the filler port. Adjusting the oil volume to suit? Could this be done on both G/box and rear diff?

Thanks BS

You have got it in one. I have done the 2 gearboxes but not the rear diff. The replacement plugs into the housings are easy to buy as is the -10 braided hose with swaged steel fittings. The pumps are run via the alternator using relays. Look at my previous threads on this to see how it was done. You must ensure that you use a thermostat switch bonded to the casings to ensure the pumps only work when the oil is hot - mine are set to 80' and run via the +ve side of the power since the body of the 300ZX pump is earthed. I used rad's by Mocal. Most of the parts can be bought from Thinkauto.

www.thinkauto.com

or

Speedflow

www.speedflow.co.uk

Faye at speedflow has a record of the sizes and fittings for an R34 GTR since that is where I got most of my parts (except for the pumps as I felt the mocal pumps they supply were not as good as the 300ZX ones). She should have copies of all my test drawings and wring diagrams as well (I assume she will have kept them).

You will be able to get the pumps from a scrapped 300ZX or S13 or R32. They are made by Hitachi and are really good quality piston type with cooling fins. Nissan were selling the pumps for £600+Vat, hence the ARC kit is so expensive due to the cost of the pump. I have 2 new boxed Hitachi pumps left over from my project which are for sale. If you are interested in the pumps, please PM me.

Alteratively, call the garage that designed the kit with me on 01362 699942 and speak to the engineer their Gavin. He can supply the parts and fit it all for you in a day.
