use jizer to clean and de grease, can be used internally to, but make sure you flust it well.. most alloy intercoolers will have some oxidisation but can by polished off

Did he say to use jizz?

I've used Brasso before on the end tanks, but that's about it.

Might be worth a try though. Let me just find that pic of the Z-Tune, and give me five minutes or so.

There's a really good method of cleaning the exteriors of intercoolers described on this page: http://www.are.com.au/feat/techtalk/tanks.htm - I'm imagining you've read it already you'll want to spray off the cleaner/water mixture immediately after applying it.. and make sure none remains or it'll eat your aluminium as it evaporates and becomes a stronger mixture.

any alloy wheel cleaner which is aluminium-safe (haha) should be ok. Just make sure you spray it all off. Be sure to start with a very weak mixture (if it's concentrated .. 20water-1acidcleaner ?)

petrol is perfect for cleaning the insides of the cooler - be sure not to put it in your bbq and light it afterwards though.

pleasure ajax.. the weird sticky muck which slowly dribbled out of my intercooler a few hours after I'd cleaned the insides of it with petrol is still hiding inside my garden shed. I left it hanging by one of the mounting eyes and it gave birth to a few form of goo.
