They will fit straight on and they are slightly bigger and better than the 32 items , if you can get the 34 dups as well they are a lot better ( made from stainless steel not cast ).
I wouldnt go running 1.15-2 bar though , they are ceramic exhaust wheels and can let go just like the 32's , they are good for no more than 1 bar .

They are ball bearing turbo and will boost much quicker than the 32 items though .

R34 ceramics are good for 1.15 bar, unlike the R32 and R33 ceramics which are only OK up to 1.0 bar.

I've got R34 turbos fitted to my R33 and they are much better, though I had HKS elbows a the same time so I don't know how much difference was down to the turbos and how much was the elbows. After I had the R34 turbos fitted, boost came in about 500rpm earlier and there was a lot more torque at part boost (eg at 2000rpm) so driveability was massively improved.

I've now got Tomei 260 degree cams which helped even more - it makes 0.45 bar boost at 2000rpm. Once the HKS FCon-Pro management went on it made 420 bhp at the hubs - all on stock R34 turbos.

Anyone know what the main difference is between the R33 and R34 turbos?

The R33 ones have plain bearings, the R34 ones have rollers. The R34 turbos spool up faster and earlier. The R34 turbos can runa bit more boost (1.15 bar compared to 1.0 bar). That's all I know.

So if you have a Stage 1 chip and are running 1.0 bar and swap to R34 turbo's is it a simple case of turning your boost up to 1.1bar for some added "fun".
Would you need to get the car checked for det or anything suchlike?
Or do you throw the R34 turbo's on and gain an increase even leaving the high boost setting at 1bar.
Anyone running a Mines ecu on an R32 and set boost to 1.1?

I've got a Mines ecu and run 1.2 but my R34 tubbies have been rebuilt with steel internals.

Ron (RKtuning) put these on my 32 when he built my engine and he is very happy with them, they spool up really quickly and are strong all round

Meeeeee! ive just upped the boost to 1.05 bar yesterday ..got my 550cc injectors, so fueling should be ok now .. if it blows it blows... I need a rebuild anyway, as my compression on cyl 6 is poor

Won't it be running a bit rich with the 550 jobbies until you get it remapped?

Kingsley is right. I was told not to put bigger injectors on the car unless it was being remapped.

If I decide to do this, I will get a Mines or Autronic ECU though to be honest, as I have no intention of actually going to "serious" power the Mines route may be better as, from what I have read, they have a greater in-built safety margin.

GTRZilla, what kind of rebuild are you going for. I will have a bottom end for sale very soon ...

My mines chip is mapped for 550cc injectors, was runnign a bit lean on the 440cc's.. I got the AFR checked out on friday on both. this is just an intrim solution...

After my engine rebuild I`ll probably just end up sending the spec over to Mines in japan through Shin and get an ECU mapped up by them... and call it a day.. While I have not been in shins car, it looks like a powerful animal and on track would make some of those drag car look clumbsy.

I`m for a response machine over a high powered drag monster...I dont want a laggy car which only becomes an animal at 5 or 6 k rpm.. it wont be drag inspired with big singles that for sure!

Shins is a track car for sure. He attributes a lot of the response of the vehicle to the carbon fibre prop shaft he has. Acceleration is really quick on the car, thats for sure
