Uprated actuators

I know HKS do them, simple matter of buying them and bolting them on, setting them to what pressure you want and off you go.

What other companies make them? Not necessarily big jap brands, just something that will be up to the job. I can only run 1.1 bar on the ones I have at the moment, and I want to run 1.4, so need ones that can cope with that

Or any alternative suggestions, welding them shut etc

Try http://www.owendevelopments.co.uk/ they can make you some.

I used them to rebuild my turbo's , and would use them again.

i have a set of hks uprated actuators and the only real difference is the adjustable link end . by reducing the length of the rod ie.turning the link end clockwise it means it will need more pressure to push the diaphram = wastgate will not open till there is more pressure .so the length of the rod determines at what pressure the wasgate opens. obviously the size and rating of the spring and diaphram have to be considered but for your info the hks ones i have are only rated from 0.6 to 1.1 bar .The thing about these is it allows you to run at 1.1 bar with standard boost solenoid.. IMO uprated actuators are not a neccessity when using aftermarket boost control .

I'm surprised you need uprated actuators for 1.4bar, I can get a stable 1.55bar on my factory actuators on the 2530's using an AVC-R controller.

You think 2530s come with standard actuators??

My 2530's didn't come with any actuators so I had to use the ones from the stock ceramic turbos. (even on the ceramics I had run 1.25bar using the AVC-R without problems although definately not recommended).

Can you move the arms by hand against the spring pressure in the diaphram? You should `just` be able to move them.

I'm using HKS actuators on my GT series turbo's.

With the EVC turned off boost is slow to build - with it turned on it is much quicker to build boost.

I recently had my turbo's off for repairs and decided to "tension" up my actuators some more to see if it improved response.

The improvement was enormous!! My base pressure was .7 bar with the actuators set fairly loose but tightening them so base pressure is now .95 bar has made the turbo's spool up much much better.

If you guys have done similar experiments perhaps share your results with us
