More Cage Pics

Hi all,

As you'll see from these shots, my GpA replica R32GTR is coming along nicely. A lot of the joints are still tacked at the mo. I'll finish weld them when I get every tube in. This helps you to not distort the shell.

Still havent decided which car to replicate yet???

Hope you like it so far!!

looks intricate - how much weight does it add?

I haven't actually weighed the tubing, but it aint light!!

It's the same as the GpA cars of the early 90's, but of course, back then they were allowed to use smaller..lighter tubing.

I did consider using smaller tubing, to make a "true" replica, but the scrutineers would have a fit if i tried to enter an event that requires the current spec. This tubing is the spec that all the cage makers use, and I have a certificate for it.

I think the stiffness it adds, along with the weight already removed from the car will make it all worth while......I hope

regards
