HKS Hyper Damper's anyone

Got HKS Hyper Damper's fitted to my car(i believe there are different type's? not sure which mine are anyone know how to tell?), they are just too hard for the road's around here the car is skipping and jumping the bumps rather than absorbing them! Anyone know whether this is in the nature of the damper or are there way's ( How to please ) to soften them? Main reason i'm so unsure in another life my old STI had the same set-up, took the car to Leda for adjustment and they found even on the softest setting there was little difference, hoping my present one's are a different type, any opinion's?
