Hi guys
I'm getting an exhaust on my car but I'm not sure what to do. I think I'm going to settle for a back box, I use my car everyday and don't want it to scare the grans with a cat back. There are a good choice of exhausts on the net, there is a custom exhaust maker in the city and there is a company that fit universal exhausts in the city to. I'm quite happy with the performance of my car just looking for a little more sound. What do I do? Are custom exhausts crap? Are universal fits worse? Please help the GTS-t isn't happy with a standard exhaust ![]() |

An off the shelf system from HKS or someone should be fine I'd have thought.
I'm a bit wary of those custom fit type places, ever since I accompanied my friend to one with his E36 320 BMW. The fitter bloke says "I can make it sound like a TVR if you like mate". Ok says my friend, and a few hours later we leave in a car that sounds like a BMW with a blowing exhaust, not a Cerbera. I guess they can do more restrained ones, and as a plus you do get to choose from a wide selection of tail pipes. Lifetime warrantly too at some places. My view of universal fit parts is that although they certainly fit almost everything, they never fit anything properly. I'd always go with something designed for that particular car, from a recognised manufacturer. Avoid Blitz Nur Spec though if you don't want to scare grannies. My dad got one on his stage one S14a 200SX, and its louder than my Skyline, even at idle. He did go for the full decat though. |
