i do use 'txt' speak sometimes during a text message, but only if ive over run the single message limit of 160 by a couple. otherwise, proper spellings.
its also the fact so many kids now just cant spell for shit. i remember at school, i even got an english teacher sacked as she could'nt spell.

Thanks MOLEMAN, I didn't know how to explain it any other way. You dig cuz? I'm gonna go and wash my mouth out with soap after that one. Sorry for the bad language. After all, I'm originally from Fort Lauderdale Florida. That crap is spoken there like mad.

A good example of ebonics is shown in the movie Airplane. It's the part with Barbara Billingsly, the mom from Leave It To Beaver. It's priceless! If you've seen it, you are already laughing. It's a David Zucker classic!

The movie "Airplane" is a great comedy written/directed by David Zucker. It has a lot of dry humor in it as well as famous people that wouldn't ordinarilly act the way that they do in that movie. I was referring to the part in the movie where two,how should I say, men of color are complaining about the food on the plane, and not a single person understands them with the exception of one woman. The woman had played a "perfect mom" on a show in the 70's called "Leave it to Beaver", and never acted in a role like this one before. Th kicker to it is she talks to them in "jive" and it is hilarious. That is what made it so damn funny! I can't really explain it, you just have to see it for yourself.

"Jive ass dude don't got no brains anyhow"
tschreibung, you missed Senna'a point. We are aware of Airplane. I think it was the term "Mom" he was referring to, itself an American Vernacular term. One of many such examples from the bastardised version of English that Americans speak. Get the Irony?
